Information Related to Career Point College Closure

Date Updated: January 10, 2017

Nursing students who are in search of information regarding the Career Point College (CPC) and National American University (NAU) teach out, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division held a hearing on November 29th, 2016 that resulted in an order that approved a teach-out agreement between CPC and NAU. See attached. The CPC-NAU teach out is being conducted at two sites: San Antonio at 4522 Fredericksburg Rd., Ste. A22, San Antonio, Texas 78201, and Austin on the NAU campus, which is located at 13801 Burnet Rd, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78727.

Previous CPC students may also wish to contact other approved nursing education programs in Texas. Refer to the list of Texas Board of Nursing (BON) approved vocational and professional nursing programs under the Education link on the Board website. Each nursing program will consider applications for transfer based upon criteria in their school policies to make decisions about admission and transfer of credits. Please refer to: Guidelines for Transferring Career Point College and ITT Technical Institute Students. Additionally, the education dashboard may assist students to locate a nursing program within their geographic area at this link.

For students who have completed the CPC program and are seeking licensure by examination, information about the application by Examination process is available at http://www.bon.texas.gov/licensure_examination.asp

For students who have completed the CPC coursework but are waiting for “green light” clearance, this policy has been waived. See attached. Contact NAU at (888) 628-8392 or (512) 651-4700.

For students who need replacement Blue cards, please be aware that after the BON mails an original blue card, ONE courtesy duplicate may be requested.  For the ONE courtesy replacement of the blue card, the student can email the webmaster at webmaster@bon.texas.gov requesting a replacement blue card. Once the request is processed, which may take up to ten (10) business days, the blue card will be mailed the next day. Please note: blue cards are mailed only to the applicant. Blue cards will not be emailed, faxed or available for pick up.   If the student has not completed the fingerprint process, the school must submit the student’s name on an official roster, which will enter the student into the system and allow the student to proceed.

Career Point is currently working with Parchment, an academic credential delivery service, to transfer your digital student records for fulfillment into the future. This process is taking longer than expected as both Career Point and Parchment are ensuring the proper security protocol is followed. At this time, Parchment anticipates having all records transferred and available for order on Parchment.com in mid-January. As Parchment nears completion, we will follow up with the date Parchment will be live to accept your order
